Vision Forum Contest

Just wanted to alert you all of this awesome contest over at Vision Forum. It's a short story contest, minimum words 100, maximum 1,200 words (ugh! 1,200 words is NOTHING! How am I supposed to write anything in 1,200 words?!:P). You're required to make up a story based on the magazine cover (there is a picture of it so you don't have to order the catalogue or anything). You have until December first (I think) to submit your story, though I'm trying to get it done now, 'cause November's completely shot with NaNo. I have a basic plot idea for the contest, but the story's already five hundred words and I haven't even reached the OUTSKIRTS of the climax yet... *shakes head* Never was a good short-story author.

I did not have swine flu, and recovered very quickly and abruptly from my one-day sickness. Now I'm just left with a hacking cough. Which isn't half-bad compared to Saturday's troubles. ^^Photobucket

Balloon Boy and Swine Flu

My mom read in the news a few days ago about the "Balloon Boy" story, where a young six-year-old boy supposedly walked into his parents' big balloon which they used for weather purposes, and floated away. After a scramble to track the device, the balloon landed...with no boy inside. The family is heart-broken, and authorities comb the fifty miles the balloon went over. I felt so bad for them, and have been keeping an eye on the CNN news titles to discover the family's fate. (I was never interested in all the news about celebrities and famous people, etc., so never looked at CNN news titles, but just started to recently because of the "Balloon Boy" as he was dubbed.)
All of you probably know this already, but the "Balloon Boy" story was all a hoax to try and bring media attention to the Heene family. *frustrated sigh* Wow. I'm glad the boy is safe, and all, but seriously? What is that family's problem?
At least the little boy is safe. If you want to read the story go HERE.
Anyways...I'm pretty sick. I have a cough, a sore throat, tiredness, lack of hunger, stuffy nose, and aching head. The symptoms of swine flue are fever, lethargy, lack of appetite and coughing. Some people with swine flu also have reported runny nose, sore throat, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. I don't have a fever, and I'm not extremely tired. I don't have nausea, or vomiting, or diarrhea. But prayer would be appreciated. ^^
