This Summer...

So what is everybody doing this summer?!

I'm taking this online Northwestern Chinese class this summer, finishing up my writing class, and continuing violin.

Oh, and reading a lot :D Right now I feel overwhelmed by books...I'm reading Eldest, The Silmarilian (is that how you spell it?), The Children of Anduin (I think that's the name...right now I'm blanking out. But it's by Tolkien :D), The Return of the King, The Door Within, Les Miserables (STILL reading it :D), Pride and Prejudice, The Origin of Species (I decided to read Darwin...but right now, fifty pages into it, I'm thinking about stopping it because it's so confusing.), and John Adams by David McCullough. Nine books at a time! Talk about reading too much. :D Every time I sit down, I take a long time deciding which book I should read! But all of them are so good, I can't put any of them down, so...I just end up sitting there will all these books in my hands, torn between which one I should read...and then before I decide, I have to go do something, or my mom wants me to clean up or something...

The only book I'm considering about stop reading is The Origin of Species...To be honest, I'm a little disappointed in it. I was expecting Darwin to be a great writer. I mean, he's called by some people "The Father of Science" or something like that, isn't he? He repeated himself, was unclear, told the readers that his theory was "unlikely"...AGH! I think I just have to quit it. I can see why modern day scientists are ashamed of The Origin of Species.

Right now I can't think of anything else that is new with me, so...
Until next post,

Bekah,
I'm SOOOOO Sorry!!!!!!!
I was looking through "Everything counts" and saw your comment about how you liked my layout and stuff... I'M REALLY SORRY I NEVER ANSWERED!!!!!!!

And for that, I'm going to make you a custom background and header.

(I'm the designer of www.blogbackgroundsinc.blogspot.com I won the contest the The girl that used to be the designer and she turned the blog over to me.)

I really truly am sorry, I'll try to get the background and header done in at least 3 days (but it will probably only be 1 day, maybe by the time you see this is will be done...)

I AM sorry!!!!

Oh and Megan, if it isn't too hard, and if you haven't already made the template, could you make it three columns?

Wow. I am the same way! I think I have about 9 books going right now as well.
I am also reading Les Miserables. How long have you been reading it?

As for Darwin, I really don't care to read his stuff. I never have, but since her started the whole evolution theory I don't care to read any of his books.

I'm sorry, I thought is was big enough for three columns, but when I tried it on my 3-column background, your right. It's too small. I will serenely fix it. Sorry.

Bekah--

Reading Darwin is a big undertaking! He's not really a great writer, though. He was a scientist, and back then it was just getting the information out, not necessarily being clear for the everyday reader.

And to clear up the myth--he didn't create theory of evolution. He created the theory of speciation--populations of animals dividing into different groups. The theory of evolution was created AFTER Darwin's time.

If you want to learn more about evolution--and why it's not true--here's a great website for you: www.answersingenesis.com.

And a great book for teens:
It Couldn't Just Happen, by Lawrence O. Richards (It's out of print right now, but you can get it used on Amazon)

And good luck with your writing! You can find out about mine at www.kat-findingangel.blogspot.com. I write fantasy, too.
